Jemina is responsible for managing client files and case deadlines, and she serves as the main point of contact between attorney and client in order to ascertain the individual issues and specific goals of each client’s case. Jemina helps to gather and collect pertinent information and documents in order to build a client’s case. Jemina also assists with scheduling consultations for prospective and returning clients.
Jemina assists the attorneys with preparing various correspondence to the courts, opposing counsel, and she assists with the preparation, filing, and service of various pleadings, motions, legal subpoenas, and discovery demands. Jemina enjoys working side by side with the attorneys and helping to prepare for various custody/visitation, child/spousal support and domestic violence hearings and trials.
Prior to joining the Law Offices of Schwartz & Godbey, Jemina held positions in senior retirement living, the banking industry, and she also gained secretarial and administrative experience in both private and professional offices.
Jemina obtained her certificate in Paralegal Studies in 2010. Jemina interned at a family law practice in the Inland Empire prior to graduation and accepted a legal position at a solo practice in Los Angeles upon graduation. Jemina then joined a law firm in Ontario, working as a paralegal for three attorneys for four years. During her tenure at this office, she worked closely with the attorneys in the areas of civil litigation, criminal defense, bankruptcy law and family law. Family Law is the area of law that Jemina is most passionate about, and she strives to provide excellence in all facets of her work.
When she is away from the office, Jemina enjoys spending her time with her husband, family and friends. She and her husband are excited for the arrival of their daughter and cannot wait to become parents. Jemina enjoys reading and writing, going to the movies, and dining at new restaurants.
